ENOur studio was happy to carry on interior design and project management of reconstruction of this interesting flat in a classic residential building under the famous Prague landmark Petřín. Its owner Žofka and her daughter Bára both have a quite sentimental and strong bond to this place.
The apartment underwent a radical change which also included renovation of some original items – floors, doors, and windows mostly. The important part of the reconstruction was the installation of brand new heating to replace the old no longer unsuitable system.
Spacious kitchen with large dining table is apparent hearth of the flat. Open kitchen cabinets, light colors and mirror cladding create a feeling of lightness yet still provide ample storage space. Living room serves mostly as a leisure area for listening and playing music or reading a good book from a rich library in front of a cozy fire
The toilet is equipped with special designer WC+handwash combo, which utilizes grey water for toilet flushing.
The whole apartment is furnished with an emphasis on modern furnishing, which is cleverly complemented with interesting souvenirs from travels or steals from thrift stores. Thanks to this combination it feels friendly and homely and both ladies made it their small kingdom.
