LOST AND FOUND GENIUS LOCI OF THE ACADEMIA

Academic premises of economics organization CERGE EI in the heritage protected building Schebek Palace in Prague, designed by famous architect Ignác Ullman in 1871, underwent reconstruction and modernization, during which were amended corridors, offices and two lecture halls.

Our aim was to restore and accent the original aura of the premises from the 1930s which were callously “renovated” in 1960s. The atmosphere of simple and purely designed common areas was accented by using reproduction of pop art paintings.

The lecture halls were supposed to fulfill its purpose by combining highly versatile functionality with a pleasant environment. Both rooms are equipped with modern audio and video teaching tools, comfortable seating and cleverly solved acoustics and lighting.
