RADICAL TRANSFORMATION OF A COTTAGE IN HOLYNĚ

At the outskirts of Prague, perched at the hill, overlooking picturesque Prokopské Walley there was an older, small but cozy cottage which was used as a family house.

After one heavy summer storm which left some serious damage, the owners decided it was time for an upgrade. In the end, only part of the facade and original chimney remained and the rest was done brand new.

The hearth of the house is a fireplace which creates a focal point of the whole layout. Kitchen and living area downstairs are both facing south and offer a seamless connection with terrace and garden biotope. Bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs benefit from a calm and quiet environment.

The atmosphere of the house and garden is indescribable. The whole permitting process was long and exhaustive, but the reflection of a sunset on the pond with the croaking of the frogs was definitely worth every bit of the effort.
